The barrel of the rifle is equipped with a German silver blade front sight and a semi-buckhorn adjustable rear sight with the top flat stamped "REMINGTON ARMS CO. ILION, N.Y." ahead of the rear sight and the bottom flat has "32" and the matching serial number. The casehardened receiver is marked on the left side "PATENTS/ MAY 3 1864/ MAY 7 JUNE 11/ NOV 12 DEC 24/ DEC 3 1872/ SEPT 9, 1873", and the serial number is on the lower tang. Mounted with a smooth straight grip stock, with a casehardened Schnabel forearm tip and crescent buttplate.

Very fine with 85% of the original blue finish, showing the start of a smooth brown patina, along with scattered spotting and handling marks. Case colors are 90%, bright and vivid, with some silvering along the edges and a darker brown in the protected areas. Stock is very fine, with specks of (attic) white paint, mild dings, light chips and handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
