Description:

The engraved lock plate is marked "E. ANSCHUTZ/PHILADELPHIA" and the barrel is marked "E. ANSCHUTZ PHILADELPHIA" on the top flat towards the breech. Blade front sight, elevation adjustable rear sight and tang peep sight. The fish hammer, bolster and barrel tang are also engraved. The rifle is equipped with double set triggers. The trigger guard, crescent buttplate and patch box are German silver and feature floral and scroll engravings. The ramrod pipes are iron and hold a brass tipped wooden ramrod. The half stock has a checkered wrist, single barrel wedge and pewter forend cap. Has a bullet starter.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The rifle has a crisp, smooth dark patina with a protected coating applied to the metal surfaces. The refinished wood is also very good with some scattered minor handling marks and overall crisp checkering. Mechanically fine.
