This German Schuetzen Target Rifle features an octagon barrel with a matte top flat featuring a silver inlaid "EMIL V NORDHEIM MEHLIS" towards the breech and a silver inlaid light scroll pattern on the upper left and right flats at the breech. Ramp pin front sight with side protectors and a tang sight with a large eye disk. The top of the receiver and breech block have an checkered pattern with the left side of the breechblock marked ""DRGM". Double set triggers and sling swivels. The receiver has a floral scroll engraving with shooting/hunting club scenes on the sides. The lever is floral and checkered engraved. The half stock has checkering on the wrist and on the underside of the forearm, tirolean style cheekpiece, thumb rest, floral carving at the receiver and a casehardened hooked buttplate. The forearm has a carved dog head with glass eyes and the left side of the buttstock has a high relief carving of a marksman.

Fine. The barrel retains traces of original blue finish in the protected areas with the balance a smooth brown-gray patina. The remaining surfaces retain 60% original case colors. There is some fine pin pint pitting (mostly on the buttplate). The wood is very fine with some minor handling marks and overall crisp checkering. The carving and engraving are crisp. Mechanically fine.
