Description:

Manufactured during the late 1850s and early 1860s, Starr Revolvers saw combat use in the Civil War as Cavalry sidearms, exposing them to the harsh conditions of warfare. Blade and hammer notch sights with "STARR. ARMS. Co. NEW. YORK." on the left side of the frame and "STARR'S PATENT JAN. 15, 1856." on the right side. Matching numbers are present on the barrel lug, cylinder, hammer and frame, with "W" inspector marks on several parts and an inverted "R.K.K.W." cartouche on the left side of the grip.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with 85% plus of the bright original blue finish overall. The patina on the frame has taken the form of wavy stripes alternating with strong original blue. Strong case colors are present on the hammer, with silvering of the trigger face. Grips are very fine with crisp cartouche and mild dings on butt. Mechanically excellent.
