The carbine has the correct First Type breechblock patent date marking "EDWARD LINDER'S/PATENT/MARCH 29, 1859". The lock plate is correctly without markings. A saddle ring is mounted on the left side of the stock. The carbine has a blade front sight and a two leaf rear sight. The carbine has an inspector cartouche stamped near the buttplate tang.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The carbine has a bright appearance with some speckling of patina. The barrel has crisp markings and fine polish lines. The stock is very good with an area of chipping and some minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
