This is an example of a Colt Lightning Slide Action Rifle that was manufactured in 1900. Blade front and fixed notch rear sights, with the 2-line address and patent dates on top of the barrel and "22 Cal" on the upper left flat. The left side of the receiver has the Rampant Colt in the center and the serial number is on the lower tang. Mounted on a smooth contoured walnut forearm with cut border and straight grip stock with checkered hard rubber buttplate.

Fine with 60% plus of the original blue finish, showing areas of brown patina, bright edge wear and scattered handling marks. A fine aged patina is forming on the brass magazine block, with a few scratches around the loading port. Stock is very good as gently cleaned, with a few dents and scuffs. Mechanically functions fine, but brass loading block is loose and sometimes obstructs operation of slide.
