Manufactured in 1961, this is one of only 683 Winchester Model 70 Target Rifles manufactured in the 243 Winchester caliber. The left side of the barrel has the standard Winchester address, trade mark, model and caliber designation marking, with the Winchester oval proof on the left side of the barrel and receiver at the breech. The heavy barrel has the front sight removed, (screws in the holes), and scope bases are mounted on the barrel and front receiver ring. The top and left rear on the receiver are drilled and tapped for scope/sight mounting. The serial number is marked on the right front of the receiver and the matching number is marked on the bolt. Straight receiver tang, hinged floor plate and late type safety. Mounted on a smooth one-piece pistol grip target stock with sling swivels, six hole accessory rail and flat checkered buttplate.

Excellent. The rifle retains 99% original blue finish with some scattered, very minor handling marks. The stock is also excellent with only a few minor handling marks. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
