Description:

These late war rifles all have the rough cast parts and features such as the rough cast receiver, rough cast bolt cover with the cocking knob on the left side without the bolt hold open lock and the late stamped sheet metal action cover with the sliding dust cover on top. This example has a late war unmarked replacement bolt carrier. The left side of the receiver is marked with a small "eagle/359" proof next to "K43" and "ac/45". This rifle has a late war all laminated stock and handguard with a single "Eagle/359" inspection stamp on the underside of the stock and in the pistol grip area. This rifle is fitted with a WWII phosphated non-matching scope mount that has a single "Eagle/359" Waffenamt proof with the serial number "5353" milled on the front end of the mount. The scope is an earlier version marked on the side: "Gw ZF4 dow/triangle/38136". This rifle comes complete with one "aye/K43" marked magazine, an original blued cleaning rod and a 1939 dated cross hatched leather sling.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 95% of the wartime finish overall, with wear and finish loss on the edges, high spots, the trigger guard bow and the front barrel band, which shows some pitting on the metal with a bright cleaned appearance. The bolt cover has been arsenal dipped blued over the rough cast finish. The stock and handguard are both in excellent condition with minimal handling marks showing rough machining/milling marks on the wood surfaces. The mount shows the late war rough cast gray finish overall with the scope originally having been blued, which has been rephosphated. The optics are heavily obscured/clouded with the cross-hairs barley visible. Mechanically excellent.
