Description:

Manufactured commercially during the lifespan of the Nazi Party, the distinctive feature of this pistol is the "Tirolean Eagle" stamp on the left side of the frame below the magazine catch, in this case perched atop a circled Swastika. The exact meaning of the Tirolean Eagle is unknown with some believing it to be a shooting prize (consistent with Tirol being a nexus of German shooting sports), while some evidence points to some form of official government use. Fixed sights with the Walther banner, two line address patent and caliber markings and "Mod.PP" on the left side ahead of the 60 degree safety lever and "crown/N" proofs on the muzzle, chamber and slide. Checkered grips with Walther banner imprints. With a custom hardwood case, bering a large Tirolean eagle plaque on the lid and 5 shooting medals with the same design; one large 1940 "Small Caliber Master Class" medal and 4 small Voralberg "Standschutzenverband" medals from 1941 through 1944.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with 90% plus of the original blue finish, showing a small amount of brown and gray patina, bright edge wear and scattered handling marks. A thin scratch runs across the right side of the slide and frame. Grips are excellent with some light dents and handling marks. The case is fine with some scuffs and ding. Mechanically excellent.
