The chinstrap is fitted with gilt brass scales, and a gilt reinforcing band is present on the front brim. On the interior is a brown/orange silk lining and a brown leather sweatband.

Fair. The spike shows signs of soldered repair, dents, cracks and loss of material on the main body, and stitching loss on the front flap. The inner lining shows some wear.
