Manufactured in 1926. Standard slide markings with trigger guard bow marked with the number "1" over the Colt triangle "VP" proof. Fitted with original grips featuring the Colt banner and circled Rampant Colt. The blue magazine is marked "PKT/COLT/38 CAL." The original box is numbered to the gun with the "Proper Ammunition" paper sheet and what appears to be an old retailers label on the lid, illegible except for the city "Milwaukee".

Excellent 90% plus original finish showing scattered light handling scratches, sharp edge wear, with some light spotting on the upper ends of the slide and frame extension, and some thinning finish on the grip straps, crisp original markings and proofs. The grips are very fine showing light handling with well defined detail and checkering. The box shows age with cracking in the outer fabric material, wear around the edges, one torn corner on the lid and weak hinge fabric, however is mostly intact with mostly intact labels on the box end and a very fine label present inside the box bottom.
