The rear sight is a Lyman sight base mounted on the right rear of the receiver with the rest of the sight components included. There are two scope blocks mounted at the rear of the barrel approximately 6 inches apart and there is a J. W. Fecker scope serial number 1435 mounted with adjustable mounts to the scope blocks. The bright polished bolt is unnumbered and marked "W L/3" on the top flat of the bolt handle. Mounted on a smooth walnut pistol grip stock with finger grooves, sling swivels, two stock reinforcing bolts and a checkered steel shotgun style buttplate. Similar to rifle serial number 1,245,963 pictured and described on pages 112-114 of "The Springfield 1903 Rifles" by Lt. Col. William S. Brophy.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, 90% original blue finish with some wear concentrated mostly on the muzzle, floor plate and buttplate. There are some scattered light scratches along the barrel. The heavily sanded stock is good with some scattered light scratches and some moderate dings. Mechanically excellent. The scope is good with considerable finish wear and clear optics.
