Manufactured in 1913 on contract by Colt for the U.S. Army. The left side of the slide has the two-line, two-block address and patent dates marking with the Rampant Colt behind the serrations and the right side has the model marking. The left side of the frame has a circled "WGP" inspector stamp. Checkered slide stop and wide hammer, with flat mainspring housing. Correct early style rounded rear sight. Replacement commercial production barrel marked "COLT 45 AUTO" on left side and later style military two tone magazine. Fitted with checkered diamond pattern walnut grips and two-tone magazine. Comes with a wooden "book" case with green fitted lining and an original "FM 23-25" War Department "Basic Field Manual" for the 1911 and 1911A1 pistol.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The pistol retains 40% original blue thinning finish with areas fading to a smooth brown patina on the slide and back strap, and a smooth gray patina on the front strap. The grips are good with heavy wear present on the lower portion and for the most part crisp checkering. The markings are crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent. The case is very good.
