Manufactured in 1897. The top barrel flat is marked with the two line address ahead of the rear sight and "38-55" at the breech. The upper tang is marked with the three line model, maker 1894 patent date and the serial number is on the bottom of the receiver. Lyman ivory beaded blade front and adjustable rear sporting sights. Blue finish with casehardened hammer, lever and buttplate. Mounted with a smooth nicely figured walnut forearm and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate.

Very fine. The rifle retains 70% original blue finish with scattered minor flaking, some edge wear and normal disassembly wear on the magazine tube. 50% original case colors remain on the hammer and lever, while the buttplate retains 60% original muted case colors with a smooth gray patina on the balance. The wood is very good with some scattered minor dings and scratches. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is fine.
