Original number 4 weight Winchester barrel with a wind gauge globe front sight. Rear barrel sight absent with unfilled dovetail. Barrel flat marked "32-40". Casehardened paneled, flat spring action with double set triggers, altered reshaped lever with checkered wood grip. Short range tang sight with a glass aperture. Barrel is sleeved with a small diameter liner and chambered for the 32-40 cartridge. The straight lower tang has been altered for the custom semi-straight grip off-hand style checkered stock, with cheekpiece and custom Schuetzen style hook butt plate. The plate is marked "WM LOTT 1894". The custom forearm has an ebony inlay in the tip, and is not checkered.

Good with 60% blue remaining on the barrel that was refinished at some time. The action has turned a grey/brown with some traces of original case color. The set triggers need work. The stock has a large crack at the upper tang and is not a tight fit at the action, and has some chipping. The finish is good with moderate handling marks and some age cracking. The forearm is a more recent replacement.
