The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and back strap. The loading gate is marked with the assembly number "1182". Blue finish with casehardened hammer and frame, blade front and frame notch rear sights, and fitted with checkered walnut grips with silver Colt medallions. The accompanying factory letter verifies the caliber, barrel length, blue finish with the grips as "Not Listed" and that it was shipped as 1 to Schmelzer Arms Company in Kansas City, Missouri on March 2, 1908.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as partially refinished, (barrel and cylinder) with the balance of the revolver retaining 90% blue finish showing some thinning and wear on the ejector housing, inside area of the trigger guard and on the back strap. There is a light drag line and cycling scratches on the cylinder. The frame retains 90% original bright case colors. The grips are very fine with a few light dings on the bottoms and crisp checkering. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is fine.
