According to the included factory letter, this revolver was part of a 5 piece shipment to Colt's San Francisco Agency on January 10, 1898, in 44 caliber with a 5 1/2 inch barrel, blue finish and rubber grips. Fixed sights with the one line Hartford address and "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER" roll stamped on the barrel with a small Rampant Colt on the left rear of the frame. The trigger, top and rear of the hammer, cylinder pin and pin retainer are finished in niter blue. Checkered grips with Rampant Colt imprints and a lanyard swivel on the butt.

Very fine with 75% of the original blue finish. Showing areas of gray patina, brown patina on the grip straps, bright wear along the high edges, and scattered spotting and handling marks. A faint looping zig-zagged "graffiti" line is lightly visible on the left side of the frame behind the cylinder. Grips are also very good with a few small pressure dents. Mechanically fine.
