Manufactured from 1872 to 1888 with a total production of estimated at 6,000, with approximately 5,000 sold to the U.S. government. The pistol has an 8 inch blue barrel, casehardened frame with distinctive hump on the back strap. The left side of the frame is marked "REMINGTON ILION N.Y. U.S.A./PAT. MAY 3D NOV. 15TH 1864 APRIL 17TH 1866". There are "P" and "S" acceptance makings on the left side of the frame and a clear boxed "CRS" cartouche on the left grip.

Fine. The barrel retains 70% thinned original blue finish. The receiver retains 50% original case colors with some minor pitting. The grip is very good with a few filled repairs on butt and some minor pressure dents. The cartouche is crisp.
