Description:

This is an attractive example of a 1937 dated Krieghoff Luger that is complete with one matching magazine. The Krieghoff Luger was the only officially approved Luger that was used by the Luftwaffe. It is estimated that approximately 2,500 Lugers were manufactured in 1937. The specific pistol is a fairly late 1937 production model that has the correct C-2 type "H-K Anchor/Krieghoff/Suhl" markings on the front toggle. The chamber is correctly dated "1937". The right side of the barrel extension has the early "LWaA/1st-stage II" inspection stamp with the Luftwaffe acceptance proof. The barrel is correctly marked on the underside with the bore diameter, "LWaA" inspection proof then the small version of the serial number along with a second Luftwaffe barrel proof on the right side. The full serial number is on front left side of the barrel extension, bottom of barrel, and front of the frame, and the last digits of the serial number "14" stamped on the various smaller parts. The extractor and safety are correctly marked "GELADEN" and "GESICHERT" respectively. It is fitted with a correct pair of early Krieghoff brown plastic grips with the coarse checkering and smooth border around the edges with no mold marks or proofs on the backside. As noted it is complete with one original matching, unmarked nickel plated magazine body with the aluminum base marked with the inverted "LWaA/2" acceptance proof over serial number "9014".

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 90% of the blue finish overall showing much edge and high spot wear. The various small parts retain 30% of their straw colors overall. The grips are excellent condition with nice distinct checkering. The factory markings and Luftwaffe proof and inspection stamps are crisp. As noted this excellent Krieghoff Luger has all matching numbers to include the magazine.
