This is a beautiful example of an original presentation grade Walther factory engraved model PP pistol. This is an impressive example of Walther engraving using the early scroll and floral designed with geometric borders which covers virtually all the exposed metal surfaces. The factory markings are outlined with the scroll engraving with the trigger guard bow, the front and rear edges of the grip strap and various edges all exhibiting a geometric designed border, that tastefully blends with the engraving. The left side of the slide has Walther Banner, followed by the two line factory address/patent markings followed by "MOD PP". The pistol is a very early model that has the reversed serial number, (that reads from the bottom to the top) with a 90 degree safety. Although there are no specific inscriptions or presentation markings, it falls in line with several other documented and fully engraved Walther pistols and is similar to the pattern shown on page 69 of "WALTHER VOLUME II- Engraved, Presentation and Standard Models" by James L. Rankin.

Excellent with 98% of the silver plated finish still remaining with some minor flaking on the edges and high spots. The grips are in excellent condition with nice sharp markings and checkering on both sides. Mechanically excellent. Just a beautiful example of a pre-war Walther engraved model PP pistol.
