Description:

This is an example of one of the approximately 3,000 Navy Commercial revolvers manufactured by DWM. These pistols are found intermingled in the serial number range of 25,050 to 67,580 making this one of the early manufactured Navy Commercial pistols. This pistol has the "GESICHERT" marking in the lower position of the safety. The left side of the barrel extension is marked with a crown over "B" and "U" commercial proof, the underside of the barrel is marked with the crown over "B", "U" and "G" proofmarks and the matching serial number is marked on the front of the frame and underside of the barrel at the breech. The partial serial number "08" is marked on the takedown lever and rear of the rear toggle. Blade front and two position rear sights, straw colored small parts, grip safety, stock lug, unmarked plated magazine with wooden base and fitted with checkered walnut grips.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The pistol retains 85% plus original blue finish with some muzzle and high point wear, and thinning on the front strap and grip safety. There is some very light spotting on the toggle. The small parts have 30% original straw colors in protected areas with a smooth silver gray on the balance. The grips are also very fine with some minor wear and bruising in the otherwise crisp checkering. The markings are clear. Mechanically fine.
