This is an example of a Commercial Mauser Banner Style Contract Luger pistol with Military "655" proofs. Mauser P.08 Banners were used to fill German Police contracts, commercial sales, both inside and outside of Germany. These Lugers exhibit nice workmanship with a high quality blue finish with the straw colored small parts. The top of the chamber is dated 1940 with the Mauser Banner trademark stamped on the front toggle. They are numbered in the military fashion with the full serial number (1415x) stamped on the front of the frame with the partial number "1415" stamped on the left side of the barrel extension and underside of the barrel. The various small parts are all numbered with the last two digits "15". The left side of the breechblock and barrel extension both have the Commercial "Eagle/N" proof mark. This Luger is complete with two matching unmarked all blue magazines with aluminum bases. The bases are both marked: "1415/x/Eagle 655" as is the right forward frame extension.

Very fine with 95% of the blue finish overall with wear on the edges and high spots along with thinning on the grip straps. The grips are also very fine overall with nice distinct checkering. This excellent Luger has all matching numbers to include both magazines.
