Description:

Manufactured in 1912, this is an example of a WWI German Erfurt Arsenal manufactured Luger pistol that was subsequently arsenal refurbished. The chamber is dated 1912, with the standard "Crown/ERFURT" marking on top of the front toggle. The right barrel extension has the standard "Crown/script letter" proofs next to an "Imperial Eagle" proof. The right top rear section of the barrel has an Imperial Eagle firing proof, with many of the smaller parts having the Erfurt "Crown/script letter" proof. The pistol has the standard fixed front and rear sights. The extractor and safety are properly marked with "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN". The pistol exhibits the typical early Erfurt nicely machined and rust blue finish with the straw color on the various small parts. It is fitted with checkered walnut grips and as noted it has two matching nickel plated magazines with the wooden bases, and each marked the same with a "1274/script letter" proof. This beautiful early Luger is complete with an early brown leather holster marked inside of the flap with the ink stamps: "T.B.1/1912/LK", with an unreadable makers stamp over "BERLIN/1912".

Rating Definition:

Very fine as arsenal refurbished with 90% of the faded original blue finish overall with minor edge and high spot wear. The various small parts retain 80% of their straw colors overall. The grips are also very fine with nice checkering, mixed with minor handling marks and some very minor nicks on the tops of some of the checkering. The holster is fine with a nice dark brown color overall, tight stitching and clear markings. As noted this Luger has all matching numbers to include both magazines.
