This is a late WWII production P38 using the zero-series frame with the late war AC45 code slide. Based on the late wartime demands on the German Army, the Walther factory started substituting early left over production parts into the military contract pistols. The early frame is correctly marked on the right side with only the serial number. The serial number is also stamped on the right front rail in the zero-series commercial manner and on the barrel lug. Right side of slide has two "Eagle/359" proofs along with an eagle firing proof. Ribbed grips, late hammer and magazine with an "Eagle/359" proof, "Eagle/WaA" proof and "jvd" on the spine.

Very fine. The pistol retains 70% plus original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. The grips are also very fine with a few minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.

Manufactured late 1944-early 1945. The left side of the slide stamped with the Walther banner, two line factory legend and "Mod. P38." Single Commercial "Eagle/N" proofs appear on the right side of the slide, frame, locking block and barrel lug. The matching serial number is located on the right side of the frame, top of right slide rail and front of barrel lug. Fitted with a set of standard ribbed grips. The magazine is marked "P.38v."

Very fine as partially refinished (frame and barrel). The balance of the pistol retains 95% blue finish showing a faint plum patina on the sides of the slide and some very mild thinning on the front grip strap. Some minor pitting (under the finish) is present on the barrel. The grips are very fine with a few nicks on the grooves, a minor surface chip missing near the bottom and a few minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
