This is an excellent example of an original late WWI Artillery Luger rig that was manufactured by DWM with original components with a matching magazine. These WWI Artillery Lugers are always a desirable variation as they have the distinctive 8 inch barrel with the combination leather holster and walnut board shoulder stock. It has its original matching 8 inch Artillery length barrel with the fine tune, fixed front sight with the tangent rear sight marked 1-8 (100-800) meters on the sight leaf. It has the properly marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" safety and extractor markings. It is fitted with an original renumbered matching WWI type nickel plated magazine with the wooden base. The base is stamped only "8707" with no other proofs. This pistol is complete with an original 1917 date black leather holster and original (non-matching) Artillery board stock. The holster is stamped on the front "C. Billep/G.m.b.H./BERLIN 1917" and it includes the original artillery length wooden handled steel cleaning rod. Also include with this rig is an original (non-matching) walnut shoulder stock. The stock has the original blued attaching iron that is stamped "5339/b" and the side of the stock has a sharp "Crown/Script" letter proof on the side. The stock includes the leather boot on the end of the stock to protect the attaching iron with the original holster flap, still screws to the side, (missing the shoulder straps).

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 90% of the blue finish overall. Edge and high spot wear with minor pitting on the left side of the muzzle area. The various small parts retain 30% of their straw colors overall. The grips are also very fine with nice distinct checkering on both sides showing some minor handling marks and nicks on the tops of the checkering. The holster is near excellent with a nice original black color to the leather overall. Minor nicks, scratches and scuffs on the holster itself with clear, distinct markings on the front. The board stock is excellent with nice original finish on the stock with minor handling marks and light scratches with a clear sharp proof. The attaching iron has 98% of the original blue finish overall with a clear serial number on top. The leather boot and holster flap are also in fine condition with a nice medium brown color overall. This luger rig has matching numbers on the Luger itself with a renumbered magazine as noted above. A very fine complete late WWI Artillery rig.
