This rifle is one of only fourteen Founders Edition rifles manufactured by Kimber. The barrel is manufactured without sights and is engraved on the top near the breech "Founders Edition I of 14". The gold signature of Greg Warne is on the right rear and Jack Warne on the left rear, (the founders of Kimber Manufacturing, Inc). The two established Kimber in April of 1979 and manufactured high quality rifles until going out of business in 1991. Greg Warne started Kimber of America in Clackamas, Oregon and the new company manufactured the same high quality rifles to this day in the New York pistol factory where everything was consolidated to after closing the two Oregon factories. The left rear of the barrel is marked with the Colton, Oregon address and the caliber designation is at the breech. The receiver is lightly floral scroll engraved and is fitted with quick release scope rings mounted on the integral dovetails. The hinged floor plate has a silver circle in the center with a bears head in it. Outside of the circle is "KIMBER/BIG GAME RIFLE" with a gold inlaid wire band surrounding it. The trigger guard is lightly engraved and the bolt handle is checkered on four sides with an engraved floral design on the bottom. The rifle is mounted with an extra fancy, nicely figured walnut pistol grip stock with multi point checkering, contrasting forend, metal grip cap, sling swivel bases and a solid Kimber recoil pad.
