Blade front and notch rear sights, with the two line, two block patent and Hartford address markings on the left side of the slide, Rampant Colt behind the serrations and the 2 line caliber marking on the right side. The upper left front of the trigger guard is marked with the number "1" over the Colt "VP" triangle proof and "48" is on the upper right front. Checkered casehardened spur hammer and royal blue trigger, and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with "COLT" in a banner at the top and circled Rampant Colt in the center. A fair original Colt instruction sheet is included with the pistol

Excellent plus. The pistol retains 99% plus original blue finish, showing some light handling marks and a small amount of edge wear overall. The grips are also excellent, with the left grip having sun-faded to a chocolate brown, and the right grip remaining black, with crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent.
