Description:

This example was manufactured in 1931. There is a star stamped at the 6 o'clock position on the muzzle and the star gauge marking "J/1106" is stamped on top of the barrel under the handguard. The top of the barrel is marked "S A/flaming bomb/11-30" behind the front sight. The rear sight does not have the 2,850 yard volley notch. The receiver is tapped on right rear side with two filler screws present in place of the absent sight. The bright polished bolt is stamped "N.S." on the top flat of the curved bolt knob and the extractor is stamped "CV". The serial number is very faintly visible on the top of the bolt body. Mounted on a smooth walnut pistol grip stock with two reinforcing bolts, the drawing number stamped in front of the rear sling swivel and a checkered steel buttplate with trapdoor (empty). With a leather claw sling marked "LAWRENCE/JEW" and a Model 1921 front sight cover.

Rating Definition:

Fine as assembled, 90% plus original dark gray parkerizing remains on the barreled action with some moderate wear on the front sight and barrel bands. The trigger guard assembly is an arsenal parkerized replacement. The stock is very good with scattered minor scratches and dings. The handguard has a 5 inch long crack across the top starting at the front barrel band. Mechanically excellent. The sling is very good.
