Description:

This fine example of a Colt U.S.N. Model 1895 DA was manufactured in 1898. The butt is marked "U.S.N./[anchor]/38D.A.", "No/12112" and "J.N.J./113/313". Fitted with a set of checkered hard rubber grips with "COLT" in an oval at the top.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 80% plus of the original high polish blue finish remaining, showing scattered scratches, dings and areas of wear showing a smooth brown patina. The trigger and screws retain 90% of the original nitre blue finish. The grips are also very fine with some scattered minor dings. Mechanically fine.
