A) Early Colt Black Powder Series 1851 Navy Revolver with Original Black Box

Description:

This revolver has the standard markings and features of the Black Powder Series. These early revolvers were shipped in the same black flip to box as the early second generation Colt Single Action Army Revolvers. With a walnut Colt case, an empty cap tin, a two cavity bullet mold, a powder flask, a nipple wrench/screwdriver and the original box numbered to the gun.

Rating Definition:

Near new with a couple small patches of very faint oxidation of the frame and only a few light handling/storage marks overall. The box is excellent with some scattered wear and some creases. Case is excellent with some scattered minor scratches and dings. The accessories are all very good or better.

Description:

This revolver was manufactured in 1978 and has the standard markings and features. There is a letter from Jilluann Martin to Mapes Auctioneers & Appraisers stating that this revolver, case and accessories were owned by her husband Alfred M. "Billy" Martin at the time of his death. With a walnut Colt case lined in royal blue velvet, an empty cap tin, a powder flask, a screwdriver/nipple wrench, a two cavity bullet mold and a mismatched box.

Rating Definition:

Near new with a few scattered minor marks and some minor high edge wear. The case is very good with some scattered scratches and dings along with some wear inside and one loose partition. Box is very good.
