A) Cased Colt Third Model Dragoon Revolver with Box and Accessories

Description:

With the original box numbered to the gun, a walnut Colt case, an empty cap tin, a bullet mold, a powder flask and a nipple wrench/screwdriver.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, 99% of the original blue finish remains with minor wear and a light drag line on the cylinder. 95% plus of the case colors remain with some fading and scattered minor scratches. Some of the brass has taken on an aged patina. The grip is excellent with some minor handling marks. The case is excellent. The accessories are very good or better. The box is very good.



B) Cased Colt 1851 Blank Cylinder Navy Revolver with Ivory Grip, Factory Letter and Accessories

Description:

Factory letter confirms configuration with the type of stocks as "Not Listed" and that it was shipped to Aeromarine on April 23rd, 1984. With a walnut Colt display case lined in blue velvet, a powder flask, a nipple wrench/screwdriver, a bullet mold, an empty cap tin and a box numbered to another gun.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, 98% of the original blue finish remains with a light drag line on the cylinder and a few minor scratches. Most of the faded case colors remain with some small spots of oxidation and some scratches. 98% of the silver plating remains on the grip straps with scattered dings and scratches. The slightly undersized replacement grip is very good with a nice patina. Case is excellent. Box is very good.



C) Prototype Colt 1862 Police Revolver with Research Letter

Description:

This example is similar to the later standard production model. There is a groove in the capping cutout. The serial number on the barrel lug and frame are marked "XP106" with the trigger guard and butt marked "XN106". With a letter from Russell Research Service stating that this information was taken from Colt second generation percussion revolver records. It mentions that the front and back straps were sent to be silver plated on March 27th, 1980 for serial number "XN106" which is a Colt prototype 1862 Pocket Navy. With a Colt Black Powder Series box renumbered to match the gun.

Rating Definition:

Very good as assembled, 95% of the original blue finish remains with some muzzle wear, scattered light scratches and a drag line on the cylinder. 98% of the original case colors remain with some scattered minor scratches and high edge wear. 98% of the original silver plated finish remains with some minor wear. The ill fitting grip is very good with some high edge wear and some scratches. Box is fair.
