Description:

According to the included factory letter, dated December 2, 1971, this revolver was part of a 6-piece shipment to the Copper Queen Consolidated Mining Co. of Bisbee, Arizona on April 29, 1904, with the 32/20 caliber, barrel length, and blue finish confirmed. Originally claimed in 1877 as a cerussite mine, discoveries of unusually rich copper ore would give birth to the boom town Bisbee and establish the Copper Queen as one of the foremost Western mines, staying active and profitable into the 1970s. The company purchased a number of revolvers from Colt, both to sell to miners through the company store and to equip their guards. Blade and notch sights, with "32 W.C.F." on the left side of the barrel, one-line Hartford address on top, the 2-line, 3-date patent mark on the left side of the frame and a circled Rampant Colt. Matching numbers on the frame and grip straps, with "1136" on the loading gate. With checkered grips, bearing the Rampant Colt at the top.

Rating Definition:

Extremely fine with 95% of the bright original high polish blue finish, showing drag lines on the cylinder and along the high edges and some mild handling marks overall. 75% plus case colors are present on the frame, with some fading to brown. Grips are excellent with a few small pressure dents and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
