Manufactured in 1899. The revolver has the smokeless powder frame introduced about serial number 180,000 and transverse cylinder pin. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address, "41 COLT." on the left side and the left side of the frame is marked with the two line, three patent dates followed by the circled Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the frame, trigger guard and back strap. The assembly number "980" is marked on the loading gate. Blue finish with casehardened frame and hammer, blade front and frame notch rear sights and fitted with smooth ivory grips.

Fine. The revolver retains 30% original blue finish concentrated mainly in the protected areas of the barrel and in the cylinder flutes. The balance has a smooth gray patina. The frame shows 30% original case colors in protected areas with a gray patina on the balance. There is some minor pitting on the recoil shield, left rear and on the loading gate. The grips are a bit undersized and remain very good with some minor age cracks on the bottoms and a pleasant color and grain. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is fine.
