This is a standard WWII German K98 rifle as manufactured by the Mauser factory at Borsigwalde. The receiver is marked with the "Eagle/26" Waffenamt proof over "ar/42". The left side of the receiver and barrel are both stamped with the single Nazi firing proof with the receiver stamped with the serial number and the receiver side wall stamped "Mod.98". The barrel has only a single Eagle/26 proof at the breech end. This rifle is fitted with a unmarked/proofed laminated stock and handguard. This example has the early all machined barrel bands, trigger guard and floor plate. It has the standard front and rear sight and is complete with the front sight cover, cleaning rod cross-hatched leather sling and original WWII K98 bayonet and scabbard. The bayonet is marked "42asw" and the metal scabbard is stamped "Elite Diamant/38" with "7847/C" stamped on the back side.

Excellent with 90% of the blue finish overall with edge and high spot wear, with thinning on the floor plate, trigger guard bow and exposed barrel. The stock and handguard are both very fine with a nice original light brown finish and minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The bayonet and scabbard both have 90% of the arsenal dipped blue finish overall with clear sharp markings.
