Description:

A brass blade front sight on a barrel, which is marked "US/NWP/P" on the upper left side. The barrel tang is dated "1848." The lock plate is marked "US/H.ASTON&CO." in front of the hammer and "MIDDtn/CONN/1848" at the tail. Small "M" proofs are visible on the brass barrel band/side plate, trigger guard finial and back strap and a "P" proof on the percussion bolster. Smooth one piece walnut stock with a pair of crisp oval script letter cartouches on the left side and a round brass butt. The pistol has the iron swivel ramrod.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The brass and iron components have a bright appearance with some minor pitting present. The stock is very fine with a few minor handling marks. The cartouches are crisp.
