The barrel has a pinched front sight and a ladder rear sight with "EVANS REPEATING RIFLE MECHANIC FALLS, ME/PAT. DEC 8, 1868 & SEPT. 16, 1871 U.S.A." marked on top of the barrel ahead of the rear sight. The serial number "6" stamped on the bottom of the frame to the left of the trigger, "19 is stamped on the bottom of the forearm and the letter "P" just ahead of the forearm. Blue barrel and frame, and casehardened lever and buttplate. Mounted with a multi-point checkered forearm and straight grip stock. The Evans rifle was one of the more novel repeating arms of the 19th century and had the largest capacity of any repeating rifle ever mass produced.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The barrel and frame retains 95% original dull blue finish beginning to thin to a smooth plum patina in places. The lever and buttplate retain 90% original bright case colors with some fading to gray. The wood is very fine with a few small gouges on the forearm, and overall some minor dents and scratches and crisp checkering. The barrel markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
