Blade front and folding peep/ladder rear sight, with the number "53" on the underside of the barrel and front of the frame, "B" on the left side of the chamber, and the three-line address and patent dates on the upper tang. Smooth stock, with two "U" marked barrel bands, a German silver plate numbered "31" on the left side of the wrist, and a smooth buttplate.

Fair, showing a mixed gray patina overall, with scattered mild pitting and handling marks. The rear sight is a replacement, with some absent screws. Stock is good as cleaned, with some chipping and dents overall, and a pair of small holes on the right side of the wrist. Mechanically very good.

Blade front and 2-leaf rear sights, with "452" on the left side of the barrel, an anchor behind the rear sight, "F/F.C.W." in one line on the right side of the receiver, and a 2-line patent marking on the upper tang. Straight wrist stock, with "F.C.W" on the right side of the forearm, "452" on the wrist, and a "U.S." buttplate. Included with the carbine is a brown leather sling.

Fair as refinished, showing a mixed brown patina on the barrel and a black and gray appearance to the receiver. Stock is fair, with cracks extending from the heel and tangs, dents and varnish loss. Sling is fair, with cracking and tears. Mechanically fine.
