Description:

This is a very fine example of a scarce early DWM Model 1906 "First Issue" Navy Luger, that has a single Navy proof mark (under the barrel) in the "C" serial number suffix block. This specific pistol is still in its original unaltered condition, with the original "GESICHERT" safety markings in the LOWER position. There is a single small "Crown/M" Navy proof on the underside of the barrel with no other military proofs. It still retains the original six inch Navy barrel with the two-position (100 and 200 meter) rear sight, grip safety, stock lug and a nickel plated magazine with an unmarked wooden base with concentric circles on the side. The top of the chamber is blank and the toggle lug bears the DWM scroll. It has checkered walnut grips with rust blue finish.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 90% of the faded original blue finish overall with edge and high spot wear. The small parts retain 50% of their straw colors. The walnut grips are excellent with nice original distinct checkering with minimal handling marks. Magazine follower thumbpiece is missing. As noted this scarce First Issue Luger has all matching numbers except the magazine.
