This is an excellent example of a 1941 dated WWII Mauser Banner Police Luger pistol with the late "Eagle/L" Police proof. The top of the chamber area stamped 1941, for the year of manufacture with the Mauser/Banner logo on the front toggle. The standard "Eagle/L" Police proof is stamped on the right side of the barrel extension with the Nazi "Eagle/N" commercial proof on the left side of the barrel extension and the breechblock. The full serial number "9365x" is stamped on the front of the frame with "9365" stamped and the left side of the barrel extension, with no number on the underside of the barrel. The last two digits of the serial number "65" are stamped on the various small parts. The pistol has a salt blue finish and checkered walnut grips, with the dark black high polish blued finish. This Police Luger is complete with one early nickel plated magazine with the aluminum base that is numbered "7962/i/Eagle 63" proof on the base.

Excellent with 90% of the late wartime blue finish with edge and high spot wear, with thinning on the front and rear grip straps. The walnut grips are also in excellent condition with light checkering on both side showing minor light pressure dents in a couple areas. Mechanically excellent. This Luger has all matching numbers except the magazine as noted.
