Description:

A revised version of the 1935 Stahlhelm with the needs of wartime production in mind. Stamped steel construction with rolled edges and integral vents, with no decal on the left side and a silver and black "SS" on the right. The inside of the flared skirt is stamped "518" and "ET64", and the brown leather liner hand marked "Pz. Jasminski, Ladislaus./3 Bat." on the left side. Neither the man nor the unit have been successfully identified, though an Eastern European origin for the markings is likely. Also included with the helmet is a double sided camouflage cover, in what appears to be "SS-Rauchtarnmuster" spring-summer/fall-winter pattern.

Rating Definition:

The helmet is fine, with roughly 85% of the green paint finish, showing areas of brown patina, particularly along the lower edge, and mild handling marks. Some scuffing and loss of the decal is also present, and the liner shows mild stains but is otherwise strong. The cover is in very good condition, with some light wear.
