Description:

Introduced in 1936, the new pattern of SS dagger supplemented the original 1933 dagger, with the caveat that the '36 pattern was intended specifically for those considered to be an "SS Man", an officer or a minimum 3-year enlisted veteran. Measuring 13 3/4 inches overall, with the 8 3/4 inch double edged spear point blade showing the acid etched "Meine Ehre heisst Treue" (My Honor is Loyalty) motto on the obverse and no markings on the reverse. Nickel cross guard and hilt, with the SS rune medallion and national eagle inlaid into the black wood grip. The sheath is black enamel finished with nickel fittings, showcasing the distinctive swastika patterned middle band and chain hanger (2 links front, 4 links back), showing alternating sig runes and death's heads on the front, and the "crossed bolt" rune on the rear of one of the front links.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. Mild spotting and polishing marks are present on the blade, and a few small cracks in the grip near the pommel. Mild wear is visible on the sheath, which retains 85% of the enamel.
