Description:

Manufactured at an unknown point in time, this pistol appears to be a vest pocket version of the Model 1903 Pocket Hammer pistol, in 380 caliber. Though the origin is unknown, John Brunner, the author of "Colt Pocket Hammerless Pistols", inspected this pistol and declared that it must be the work of either Colt or Browning. Blade front and notch rear sights, with a pair of metal bars running through the takedown hole, serrations at the rear, and "380 CAL." on the right side. The frame is unmarked, with a single grip screw on the right side, and the magazine visible through the sides. Several parts, including the mainspring housing, hammer, grips, extractor and trigger, are absent, with the present parts unfinished and in the white. Included with the pistol is a set of correspondence between a previous owner and Brunner, discussing the features and possible origins of this pistol.

Rating Definition:

Fine with scattered spotting and areas of brown patina. Never totally finished at the factory; kept for study as parts are missing.
