Early WWII M1A1 Carbine with standard receiver markings with a two position rear sight and a "Inland Mfg./General Motors" marked barrel dated "5-43". This carbine has the early features such as the type I band, blue flat bolt, smooth push button safety and milled trigger guard. It has the correct style, folding stock with the original leather cheekpiece. The stock is the later low wood pattern with the pistol grip and early 2 rivet handguard. The left side of the stock has a single rebuild cartouche "A.Y". The front of the pistol grip has the single large letter "P" proof and the underside is marked "RI/3". It is fitted with a folding/hinged steel buttplate and a single blue "AI" marked magazine.

Rating Definition:

Fine as assembled and restored with 80% of the arsenal parkerized finish remaining overall with wear on the exposed section of the receiver. The barrel has been reparkerized and now has a darker parkerized finish. The stock and handguard are both very good overall with minor handling marks with clear distinct cartouches on the sides. The stock has been cut out for a selection switch (now absent!). The leather cheek piece is dark and intact.
