Description:

This is a early WWII produced German G43 rifle that was manufactured by Gustloff-Werke that has the "bcd" code receiver. These are characterized by having the Type 1 cosmetically milled receiver, that is marked on the left side with the small "asterisk proof over the "bcd" code for the Gustloff-Werke factory in Weimer/serial number 6516b/ over the G43 marking/Eagle Firing proof. It has the type 1 machined bolt carrier without the reinforcing web on top; solid cocking knob on the left side and the bolt hold open latch on the right side. The action housing is the stamped version with the sliding dust cover on top. The rifle has the early style barrel with the threaded muzzle nut, with the standard front sight and military tangent rear sight that is graduated from 100-1200 meters. It is fitted with a laminated stock and hand guard that has a cupped sheet metal buttplate. The left side of the buttstock has two "WaA749" Waffenamt proofs below the sling slot, with a single proof in the pistol grip area with the rifle serial number (6516) on the underside of the stock. The rifle is complete with one "aye/G43" marked magazine, front sight cover, cleaning rod and a WWII brown leather sling.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 85% of the blue finish remaining, mostly on the protected areas of the rifle with the exposed barrel having a silver/gray patina finish with thinning on the action cover. The stock and handguard are both very good with visible stock proofs, with handling marks and scratches overall from use. Mechanically fine.
