The bottom of the safety lug on the bolt is stamped with the steel lot code "C 8". Mounted on a smooth walnut straight grip stock with grasping grooves, a boxed script "JLA" cartouche on the left wrist, two circled script "P" proofs on the bottom of the wrist, one reinforcing bolt and a smooth steel buttplate. With a "CS/1917" marked leather claw sling.

Rating Definition:

Very good, 30% of the faded original blue finish remains with some scratches, dings and high edge wear along with a smooth brown patina on the balance. The revarnished stock is also very good as lightly sanded with a faint cartouche, some scratches and some dings. Mechanically excellent. The sling is good.
