Manufactured in 1939 with a straight taper barrel, fixed front and adjustable rear sights. The two line address/patent dates are marked on left side of the barrel, "THE WOODSMAN" on the left side of the frame, "COLT" followed by "AUTOMATIC/ CAL.22 LONG RIFLE" and the Rampant Colt on the slide. The back strap has the series of horizontal lines that indicate the design change for high-velocity 22 LR ammunition. Checkered walnut grips and a Woodsman marked two tone magazine. Complete with the original Colt purple hinged box, hand numbered to the gun.

Excellent. The pistol retains 97% of the original blue finish with a few light handling marks and some minor high edge wear. The barrel shows some thinning on both sides and at the muzzle. The grips are excellent with crisp checkering and a few very light handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The box is good with handling and edge wear. The lid top is partially separated and part of one end is absent. The end labels are intact with clear lettering.
