Description:

Both swords were manufactured in Solingen, with straight single fuller blades, nickel finished single bar guards and pommels, oak leaf grip collars and "police eagle" ornaments, a black leather portapee with silver and red accents and a silver portapee, and black enamel scabbards with nickel fittings. 1) Paul Weyersberg police sword, 38 1/2 inches overall with a 33 inch blade, alloy wire wrap on the hard rubber grip, and a black leather belt hanger and extension. 2) Herman Rath police sword, 34 7/8 inches overall with a 29 1/2 inch blade bearing an intertwined "SS" stamp on the left ricasso and a ribbed hardwood grip.

Rating Definition:

1) Excellent overall, with some light handling marks. A small amount of play is present in the grip wrap, and some fraying of the portapee. 2) Fine, with some minor spotting and handling marks overall. The blade shows some mild edge dents and a small bend at the tip, a tiny chip is absent from the grip, and the sheath shows mild flaking and areas of brown patina.
