This is a 1943 production British Lee Enfield with drift adjustable front sight and flip up elevation adjustable rear sight. The left side of the receiver is marked "No. 4 MK. 1", the left side of the butt socket is marked "M47/1943/AS2571/TR". The cocking knob is marked "N.67 MK II". There were over 26,000 produced and they were used from WWII into the 1960s. It is mounted with a smooth semi-straight grip walnut stock and forend set with a removable screw-on wooden cheekpiece and a smooth aluminum buttplate. The stock and forend have British proof and acceptance marks with a faint "S51" marked in the grip cap area. Mounted to the receiver is a No. 32 MK1 sniper scope that is marked on top of the tube "TEL. STG. No. 32 MK1/H.B.M. Co. O.S.3882./Reg.No. 5057". The mounting bracket has been restamped with the rifle serial number and the scope rings are numbered "G955" on the back set and "G956" on the front set. With one magazine and a green metal scope can with shortened leather straps, with scope tool inside.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as arsenal refurbished and rebuilt overall with only minor edge and high spot wear on the metal surfaces. The stock and hand guards are also in very good condition with matching visible markings on the various parts. The scope is also in fine condition with clear optics and good markings, with the rifle number milled into the side of the mount. The scope can is also in fine condition overall and has been repainted during the rebuilding process. A nice looking example of desirable WWII British sniper rifle.
