Description:

Manufactured from 1909 to 1920, this is a unique top break with both a barrel latch and a side thumb release on the left side of the frame. It is also the only Smith & Wesson top break revolver to have the trigger guard integral to the frame rather than a separate piece. Two line address/patent dates on top of the barrel rib flanked by Maltese crosses, "38 S.&W. CTG" flanked by Maltese crosses on the left side and the S&W logo on the right side plate. Integral blade front and notch rear sights. Casehardened trigger and hammer and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with S&W logo at the top. Matching numbers on the frame, right grip panel, cylinder, latch and barrel. The included factory letter confirms the barrel length, blue finish and hard rubber grips. The revolver was shipped on Feb. 20, 1913 to H&D Folson Arms Co., New York City.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The revolver retains 98% original polished blue finish showing some loss at the muzzle and minor high edge wear. The hammer and trigger retains some strong and vivid original case colors. The grips are also excellent with overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
