Description:

Introduced for German participants in the Spanish Civil War, the Spanish Cross medals covered the whole spectrum of recognition; the Bronze Cross was awarded to all members of the Condor Legion who served 3 months in Spain, while the Gold Cross with Swords was reserved for those who had thoroughly distinguished themselves in the face of the enemy, with only 1,126 members of the Condor Legion earning the award. Both measure 2 1/4 inches wide, with 4 Luftwaffe eagles arranged around a Maltese cross bearing a swastika. 1) Spanish Cross in Bronze, with "CEJ" marked on the rear. 2) Spanish Cross in Gold with Swords, marked "CEJ/900" on the rear. In a green leatherette case with maroon lining.

Rating Definition:

Both medals are very good to excellent with minimal handling marks.
